The Malawi Achievers Awards UK that took take place on June 24, 2017 at Marriot Hotel in Leicester City, formerly recognised and awarded Dr Henry Matiti with a ‘Life Time Achievement’ award for his contribution to health care in Malawi through his involvement with MAHECAS.

Dr Matiti, as one of the initiators and founders of MAHECAS served as the Vice Chairperson for MAHECAS from 1995 to 1999 and then took over as the Chairperson for 4 years until 2003. Dr Matiti continued to dedicate his time and resources to MAHECAS as a committee member until 2007 when he retired from the committee but continues till to date to provide advice to MAEHCAS committee and participate on MAHECAS activities and events.
